Money Games is a set of three games:
1. Game One: The Coin Game
This game uses two boards, each divided into six columns with indentations at the top of each column where coins are placed showing both sides of each coin. It uses only the coins from the cash box and one or more dice. This is an exchange game in the style of a Who Has More? contest. It gives children second period practice in making exchanges with coins. It requires 29 pennies, 9 nickels, 10 dimes, 8 quarters, 8 half dollars, and 14 gold or silver dollars. The direct aim is the internalization of coin values and relationships.
2. Game Two: Where Should the Money Go?
Twelve green cards are labeled with fundamental needs and monthly amounts that might be paid by a fictional household:

Since children generally are not involved in paying the bills in their households, they don’t often appreciate the subtleties of managing money! The direct aims are firstly to have children understand that their fundamental needs are met mostly by allocating limited income, and also to give second period practice in making various sums from different denominations of notes.
3. Game Three: Pay Up Please!
This game contains a stack of at least 50 cards on which are printed amounts with dollars and cents. (Most of the cards should contain amounts in the range of $1 to $100.00 but some show very large amounts.) It uses all the bills and coins required for the first two games. There are also six “credit cards” (two for $100, two for $150, and two for $250) and a sign that reads “Bank Teller.” The direct aim of this game is to give children second period practice in making change with both notes and coins together.

Does Alison's Montessori accept Purchase Orders (POs) from schools?
Yes, we accept Purchase Orders from public schools and charter schools. The PO must be on a school or organization letterhead, signed by the Director or an authorized representative. You can place the order online and select the PO payment method, then fax us the signed PO.
What should I do if my materials arrive damaged?
Please call or email us immediately if your materials arrive damaged. Our customer service representatives will work to resolve the issue promptly. We ask that you retain the original shipping carton and packing materials.
Do you offer international shipping?
Yes, we ship internationally. For deliveries outside of North America, we typically use DHL, USPS, or any other carrier. Please contact our customer support line for assistance with international orders, especially those over a certain dollar amount, which may require payment via wire transfer.
