Preserving Our Environment Chart with Cards
The Preserving Our Environment card material is a sorting and decision-making work. A blank chart, referred to in Montessori as “mute” is used to label three main categories, Recycle, Reuse, and Reduce. Students sort through thirty picture cards describing examples of each of the three categories. A control chart represents an answer key of a sort. It’s important to recognize (and encourage!) different and equally valid opinions on these examples. The nature of the work lends itself to multiple “correct” answers. When I choose to reuse a plastic bottle for my drinking water am I also reducing my purchasing of new water bottles? Yes! Can I then recycle that same bottle? Sure! In other words, don’t get hung up on the right answer, wrong answer here. The value is more in the discussion, more in the critical thinking. As is so often the case in Montessori, the path is often more important than the destination.

Where are Alison's Montessori materials manufactured?

Does Alison's Montessori accept Purchase Orders (POs) from schools?
Yes, we accept Purchase Orders from public schools and charter schools. The PO must be on a school or organization letterhead, signed by the Director or an authorized representative. You can place the order online and select the PO payment method, then fax us the signed PO.
What should I do if my materials arrive damaged?
Please call or email us immediately if your materials arrive damaged. Our customer service representatives will work to resolve the issue promptly. We ask that you retain the original shipping carton and packing materials.
Do you offer international shipping?
Yes, we ship internationally. For deliveries outside of North America, we typically use DHL, USPS, or any other carrier. Please contact our customer support line for assistance with international orders, especially those over a certain dollar amount, which may require payment via wire transfer.
